The Clan reunites!

The Clan reunites!! said an excited text from one of my sons on Good Friday.

There are often times when our little family is spread over the globe. The long Easter weekend is one of those wonderful times when we all get together for a few precious days...

Woohoo!

A few lazy days spent enjoying each other's company - flying planes (or quadcopters I'm reliably informed), eating chocolates (a treat from À la Mère de Famille) and an Easter Egg Hunt - with meticulously mapped chocolates, lest one of the dogs should find them.

A delicious snooze in the garden - the first of the year - with the sound of bees buzzing, and butterflies fluttering past.

The dogs enjoying the warmth of the sunshine, and Oscar fast asleep on a cushion.

And then it's trains to be caught and the boys departing in different directions again. Until the next time.

A Spring Day

A happy Spring day in the Cotswolds.
Everything seems to look and feel different when the sun comes out doesn't it?
A little bit of gardening- scratched hands, sore back and happiness.
A little bit of stitching in the sunshine.
Playing with the dogs - can't you see the smiles on their faces?
Colour starts to appear in the garden. Our mood lifts. Spring is here.

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
"Winter is dead.”
A.A.Milne When We Were Very Young

The weekend offered a wonderful taste of Spring didn't it?
Birds were singing louder, buds were everywhere, there was a glorious warmth in the air and the beautiful daffodil made its first appearance.

Bountiful snowdrops
I'll miss their delicate beauty when they disappear for another year

Thoughts turn to Spring wardrobes, the outside furniture will be given a lick of paint, the barbeque is readied for use and the days get longer.

So it's good to see the daffodil - you are very welcome.
